Family Calendar & Shared Lists

Keep family events, participants and preparations together. The calendar shows when something happens; a shared list shows what still needs doing.

Website family illustration. The planning examples below are fictional.

Use the calendar for when things happen

Record an event’s title, start and end time, participants and recurrence when needed. Review upcoming activities in the calendar or list instead of searching through old messages.

Dated tasks and checklist items can also appear in the schedule. To change a source item, return to its task or checklist rather than treating the calendar entry as a separate copy.

Use a shared list for what needs preparing

Break shopping, school preparation or a trip into items. Add quantities, notes, an assignee or a due time where useful, so each person can see their part.

Visibility and participants determine who can collaborate, and children’s actions depend on their permissions. When an item needs task rules or rewards, a parent can use the supported conversion flow and configure those rules.

One outing, one event and one preparation list

This fictional example keeps the activity’s timing separate from the things that need doing.

Update the original when plans change

Change the event when its time changes and the list when its contents change. Confirm who needs to know, so an old screenshot does not become the family’s reference.

An event appearing in a calendar does not prove a notification was delivered. Check the current app’s reminder options, notification permissions and actual settings, and directly confirm important plans.

Common Questions

Do we have to use both the calendar and lists?

No. Use a calendar for timing and a list for preparation. Start with whichever solves your immediate problem and combine them when useful.

Can everyone see every list?

Visibility, participants and member permissions determine access. A shared list is not automatically public to every person.

Put timing in the calendar and preparation in a list.
