Kids’ Allowance & Savings Goals

Keep allowance records, set payday rules, review spending requests and help a child turn one wish into a visible savings goal.

Official feature illustration. The symbols do not represent a balance or a fixed exchange rate.

Give each record a source and a purpose

Use the allowance area to review a child’s balance and transaction history. When recording money, add where it came from or what it was used for so you can revisit the choice together.

Agree on the currency, timing and scope first. Recording an allowance payment in the app does not transfer money to a bank or payment account; parents arrange the actual payment.

Set a payday rule your family understands

Parents can configure allowance amounts, frequency and relevant conditions, then review the resulting records. Check whether a parent confirmation or task condition is part of the rule.

Regular allowance and a particular task reward can serve different purposes. Explain a change before the next payday rather than introducing a new condition when the child expects payment.

Turn “I want it” into a choice you can discuss

A child can submit a spending request with an amount and purpose. Parents review it under the family’s rules and can explain the decision.

A savings goal gives a wish a name and target amount. Assign part of the available allowance to that goal and keep its progress separate from everyday spending. This makes the choice between buying now and saving visible.

Keep a small art-supplies goal separate

These fictional amounts use USD to illustrate the records, not a recommended allowance. Replace them with your family’s own currency and agreement.

Use records to start a conversation

Review one purchase and one savings contribution together before expanding the plan. Goals and amounts can change as your family’s circumstances change.

A progress bar is not an investment return. These features organize family allowance records and savings agreements. Permissions, available options and subscription limits depend on the current app.

Common Questions

Does a recorded payday move real money?

No bank or payment-account transfer is implied by an app record. Parents handle the actual payment separately.

Are task points the same as allowance?

They are different records. If a parent configures a related reward or exchange, its amount, cost and conditions come from those settings, not a universal conversion rate.

Agree on a purpose, then record and review one transaction together.
